"I don't have an email address" - Email shunners & haters.

I was quite surprised to come across few people today who on their web pages stated that they no longer use email and that they would not be needing it any more. Read more about them by following the links below.
Email (let's drop the hyphen) - Don Knuth, Author of The Art of Computer Programming
Email is Evil - Das, Associate Professor of Finance, Santa Clara University

Also, note the interesting point(republished below) Don makes about the use of "email" versus "e-mail".

"Newly coined nonce words of English are often spelled with a hyphen, but the hyphen disappears when the words become widely used. For example, people used to write ``non-zero'' and ``soft-ware'' instead of ``nonzero'' and ``software''; the same trend has occurred for hundreds of other words. Thus it's high time for everybody to stop using the archaic spelling ``e-mail''. Think of how many keystrokes you will save in your lifetime if you stop now! The form ``email'' has been well established in England for several years, so I am amazed to see Americans being overly conservative in this regard. (Of course, ``email'' has been a familiar word in France, Germany, and the Netherlands much longer than in England --- but for an entirely different reason.)"

Face transplant patient is recovering fast

There have been reports over the last week about a woman who apparently had the first face transplant. The surgeons in France have carried out the first face transplant, as per the reports.
The woman had lost her nose, lips and chin after being savaged by a dog.

In the controversial operation, tissues, muscles, arteries and veins were taken from a brain-dead donor and attached to the patient's lower face.

Doctors stress the woman will not look like her donor, but nor will she look like she did before the attack - instead she will have a "hybrid" face. The partial face was donated by the family of a woman who was declared brain dead. Her identity also has not been made public.

But the Sunday Times, citing unidentified doctors, said the donor was a 38-year-old woman who had hanged herself. Dubernard and French officials refused to discuss specifics.

"I don't see what the problem is, whether she was hit by a car or committed suicide," said Carine Camby, head of a Health Ministry agency that coordinates organ procurement. She refused to say how the donor died.

Here is the link to the post.
