Kiyaan Vazirzadeh - The new Microsoft CEO

As per this press release from Microsoft, there will be a new CEO taking charge on Friday, Dec. 9.

No, old Billy is not retiring and don't be alarmed – the new CEO will be in place just for a day though. Mr. Bill Gates' replacement is Kiyaan Vazirzadeh and he is from Simi Valley, CA, USA.

BTW, did I say he is 10.

Kiyan made it to this position through the 3 wishes show.

The new CEO of Microsoft will hit airs in the United States on Friday, Dec. 9 at 9 p.m. on most NBC-TV affiliate stations.
Kiyaan Vazirzadeh - The new Microsoft CEO - Wednesday, December 07, 2005 -

Hello India! I've more money for you.

Microsoft now joins Cisco & Intel alongwith a flurry of other companies jumping in to invest in ...yes..its India again. It was quite expected and now India is all praises for the super hero.
Today, Microsoft announced that they would be investing $1.7 billion in India, adding 3,000 more jobs to its current workforce of 4,000. ``We are keen to grow Microsoft activities in India,'' Chairman Bill Gates said, according to the report. Ironically, the growth in employment for Microsoft will be more in India than the United States.

Apparently, there is also an increase in outsourcing backlash in US. Yet none of this outcry seems to make much of a difference to the tech giants investing BIG bucks in India.

Microsoft will create a new research center in Bangalore, India's technology hub. That center is expected to open next month. Microsoft also has a research center in Hyderabad, India.

Some of the money will be used to create a version of the Windows operating system for India that will be available in nine languages.

sOny's patch for a hOle

sOny, the company that is off late providing lots of patches for its holes(products) has released yet another patch for a security vulnerability that exists in SunnComm's MediaMax Version 5 software which is embedded in Sony's BMG music CD's. This controversial software which Sony sneaked into the CD's to prevent users from making copies has recently got the company into lots of trouble.

Thomas Hesse, a man within Sony who, just weeks ago commented on the SonyBMG DRM problems as 'Most people don't even know what a rootkit is, so why should they care about it?' now states, 'We're grateful to EFF and iSEC for bringing this to our attention. We believe that the availability of the update coupled with our campaign to notify customers will appropriately address the CDs with MediaMax Version 5 in the market.'
