Gandhi no longer is smart and caused a division

Read what Steve Safran of Lost Remote has to say about Gandhi & other "Person of the Year" choices by TIME ..

"1931: Gandhi. Seemed smart at the time. But he caused division between different religions which led to several bloody wars, and the nuclear-any-second-now chaos between Pakistan and India. Instead, let’s go with "The American People," as this was the year we adopted the nearly un-singable “Star Spangled Banner” as our national anthem."

ah! the freedom of speech.

more..

edit: The article is not meant to degrade any of the therein mentioned personalities but is to point out TIME's current stance in selecting the "Person of the year".

Firefox blog editor extension from Peformancing

The folks at Performancing have released a firefox extension that functions as a blog editor. Currently it only supports Blogger.com, WordPress.com as well as custom WP installations, TypePad.com, LiveJournal.com & custom Movabletype installs.

Though it is a pretty slick tool it is not perfected yet and has a few bugs and missing features.

The tool currently does not support image drag & drop. So, if you've post an image to the blog then you'd first have to FTP the image and include the image URL..not too friendly if you frequently include images in your blog posts.

Also, the interface is a little buggy and you'd have to retry a couple of times to make it work. Pl. see the images below (included the images showing some cosmetic defects as well). You can get the extension here.
